1. Age Gap Romance: Romantic stories involving a couple with an age gap of at least 10 years between them.
2. Contemporary Romance: Romantic stories set in a milieu after 1995 and spilling over into the 2000s.
3. Erotica: Stories where the erotic and sexual scenes are very high in number and/or the plot is driven by the erotic.
4. Fantasy / Paranormal / Supernatural
5. Fusion Fiction: A story where one or more plot lines are combined. For e.g. drama and romance / mystery and romance / humour and suspense.You can also enter books with tropes that are not covered in other categories, For e.g. celebrity romance, military romance, medical romance, toaster-oven romance, late life coming of age, friends to lovers romance, enemies to lover romance etc.

that incorporate elements like gods, archangels, demigods etc.

8. Novella: Books with up to than 40,000 words.
9. Romcom: Stories in which romance is central but has a lighthearted, humorous plotline pushing the envelope of plausibility.
10. Sci-fi / Steampunk / Speculative
a.
Sci-fi: Stories that
deal with or are set in worlds with imaginative and futuristic concepts such as
advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel
universes and/or extraterrestrial life.
b.
Steampunk: Stories with a historical
setting typically featuring steam-powered machinery rather than advanced
technology.
c.
Speculative: Stories encompassing
genres with certain elements that do not exist in the real world, often in the
context of futuristic or other imaginative themes.
11. Second
Chances Romance: Stories where the lead couple were romantically
involved with each other in the past and have reunited with one more chance at
having a future together.
12. Sports
Romance: Romantic stories where either one or both the leading ladies play
a sport professionally and the environment has sports as an integral part.
13. Young Adult: Stories where the
lead couple are in their teens.
Note that we
may combine / drop categories dynamically each month to ensure that there are
at least three nominees in the final categories available for voting.
